Magic Millions Weanlings Day-2: $370k Fastnet Rock Colt
Queensland trainer Gerald Ryan (acting for a stable client) paid the Day-2 top price of $370,000 for a colt from the 1st-crop of former star sprinter & multiple Gr1-winning Coolmore sire Fastnet Rock (out of Scenic mare Bumps) during yesterday's middle session of the 3-day Weanling Section at the 11-day Magic Millions National Sale on the Queensland Gold Coast (3 days of weanlings, followed by 5 days of broodmares & then 3 days of yearlings). The colt was consigned by Glastonbury Farms as agent & Ryan commented: "He was the best horse in the sale in my opinion. He's strong, sound, mature, correct & is a great type. There's no doubt you'd be paying a lot more for him as a yearling. On the market we were delighted to be able to buy him. His dam has done the job by producing 2 stakes horses & he's by the sire that many are tipping to be the star of the 1st-seasoners."
