Anamato Wins Kewney Stakes

Arrowfield Stud current Australian champion sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a group success when daughter Anamato (Redoute's Choice-Voltage, by Whiskey Road) scored a 1-length victory in the $300,000 Gr2 Kewney Stakes (1600m) for 3YO fillies at Caulfield. Anamato (ridden by Craig Newitt for trainer David Hayes) defeated multiple stakes-winning stable-mate Catechuchu (Catbird-Noble Fleur, by Dahar) & Flame Of Sydney (Encosta De Lago-Flame Of Atlanta, by Clay Hero). Anamato now has 3 wins (also including the Gr2 Hollylodge Thoroughbreds Classic over 1500m at Moonee Valley on February 17, plus 2006's Gr3 Darley Sires' Produce Stakes over 1600m at Morphettville) & 8 placings (including January's Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes over1200m on January 26, plus 2006's Gr1 Victoria Oaks over 2500m, Gr2 Wakeful Stakes over 2000m, Gr3 Tranquil Star Stakes over 1400m, Gr3 Danehill Stakes over 1200m, Gr3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes over 1200m & Listed Fernhill Handicap over 1600m) from 14 starts for $636,950 earnings.
