Mansion House Wins Aquanita Stakes

Thursday, 15th February 2007

Also on the track in Perth, former Gr1 Victoria Derby winner Blackfriars (Danehill-Kensington Gardens, by Grosvenor) added a black-type success when gelded son Mansion House (Blackfriars-Princess Kariette, by Aurealis) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in yesterday's $60,000 Listed Aquanita Stakes (1400m) for 3YOs at Ascot. Favourite Mansion House (ridden by Damien Oliver for trainer Ivan Haggerty) defeated fellow geldings Guyno (O'Reilly-River Century, by Centaine) & Mr President (Xaar-Duchess Cara, by Quest For Fame). Mansion House now has 4 wins (also including December's Gr3 Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic over 1400m at Ascot) & a runner-up (in December's Gr3 A.J.Scahill Stakes over 1400m at Ascot) from 7 starts for $161,500 prize-money.
