Prince Arthur Wins Underwood Cup

Ill-fated Coolmore shuttler & multiple champion sire Danehill (Danzig-Razyana, by His Majesty) added a black-type success when favoured 4YO entire Prince Arthur (Danehill-Scribbling, by Palace Music) scored a half-length victory despite being trapped wide for much of the $80,000 Listed Frank Underwood Cup (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney. Prince Arthur (ridden by Tye Angland for trainer Bart Cummings) defeated 5YO entire Spirit Of Tara (Song Of Tara-Gagoosh, by Marauding) & 6YO gelding Emerald Jack (Celtic Swing-Out With The Old, by Star Way). Prince Arthur (a NZ$210,000 yearling at the 2004 NZB Premier Sale at Karaka) now has 4 wins & 4 placings (including last start in the Listed Tattersalls Club Cup over 2000m at Randwick on January 1, plus the 2006 Gr3 Hawkesbury Cup over 1600m & Listed Carbine Club Stakes over 1600m) from 13 starts for $184,800 prize-money.
