UK Tatts Day-5: $962k Sadler's Wells Colt

Monday, 27th November 2006

Camas Park Stud's Timmy Hyde out-bid Denis Sheehy & paid 370,000 guineas (A$962,000) for a Sadler's Wells colt (out of Law Society mare Solo De Lune) consigned as part of a complete dispersal from Britton House Stud. Solo de Lune (who has been represented by French Gr1 Prix Saint-Alary winner Cerulean Sky & Gr1 Irish Oaks & US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Filly And Mare Turf runner-up L'Ancresse) was in the headlines earlier in the week when her Dalakhani yearling colt topped Day-1 at Tattersalls for 700,000 guineas (A$1.82m). Hyde told racingpost.co.uk: "Prices are expensive, but at least with a page like that you've got a chance. He'll be resold next year."
