Ireland Breeding Day-4: $208k Bertolini Filly

Monday, 20th November 2006

In Ireland, Brian Grassick Bloodstock paid the Day-4 top price of €130,000 (A$208,000) for a filly by NZ Rich Hill Stud's Darley shuttler Bertolini (out of winning Green Desert mare Nirvana) at the 7-day Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale (5 days of foals followed by 2 days of broodmares & fillies) at Kildare Paddocks. The filly (consigned by Barnane Stud) is a half-sister to October's Italian Gr3-winner Il Cadetto (2nd top-rated juvenile in that country). Grassick told racingpost.co.uk: "She has been bought for a partnership for Abbeville & Meadowcourt Studs & will be re-offered next year. She was a very nice, scopey filly with a good pedigree & her half-brother in Italy looks very smart."
