Alamosa Wins NZ Wellesley Stakes

NZ Waikato Stud-based stallion O'Reilly (Last Tycoon-Courtza, by Pompeii Court) added a juvenile black-type success when his colt Alamosa (O'Reilly-Lodore Mystic, by Centaine) scored by 2-lengths in the NZ$50,000 Listed Wellesley Stakes (1000m) for 2YOs at Hastings. Alamosa (ridden by Opie Bosson for trainer Peter McKay) defeated the gelding Nosmo King (Cullen-Brockovich, by Tuscany Flyer) & filly Take The Cake (San Luis-Good Cake, by Kashani). Alamosa (a NZ$60,000 yearling at the 2006 NZB Premier Sale at Karaka) now has 2 wins & a debut runner-up from 3 starts.
