UK Tatts Yearlings Day-1: A$650k Oasis Dream Filly

Wednesday, 11th October 2006

Trainer John Gosden paid the Day-1 top price of 250,000 guineas (A$650,000) for Lot 904, the daughter of the triple Group 1 winning first season sire Oasis Dream and the Mark Of Esteem mare Top Flight Queen during the opening session overnight at the 5-day Part 2 of the UK Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. The filly hails from a top Cheveley Park family that includes Gr1 winner Chorist. The sale provided a great result for Saleh Fustok's Deerfield Farm who consigned the colt, having purchased Top Flight Queen via agent Richard O'Gorman for 23,000 guineas (A$59,800) at the 2001 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale. "She was a very racy filly with a good, powerful relaxed manner - just like her father," Gosden told racingpost.co.uk. "The half-brother's a very nice horse and it's a family that's alive. I'm not sure who she is for at the moment."
