UK Jockey Head-Butts Horse In Parade Ring
Tuesday Odd Spot: British jockey Paul O'Neill will be investigated by the UK Horseracing Regulatory Authority after television cameras filmed him head-butting his horse City Affair in the parade ring before a race at Stratford. The TV coverage showed City Affair being unruly in the ring & throwing O'Neill out of the saddle; the jockey then regained his feet, grabbed the reins, pulled the horse toward him & lowered the butt of his helmet forcibly into City Affair. London's Evening Standard newspaper duly reported the incident under the headline "Angry Jockey Does A Zidane To His Horse" (referring to French soccer star Zinedine Zidane's infamous head-butt in the recent World Cup soccer final).
