Ricardo Shift To Argentina

In South America, Brazilian-based Jorge Ricardo (the "world's winningest active jockey") is "considering relocating permanently to Argentina as early as June," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Ricardo (who had ridden 9,303 winners) confirmed: "Everything is heading in that direction. My definite transfer to Argentina should take place during the second half of June." The 45-year-old rider (who is in the initial 6 months of a 3-year riding contract with Argentina's Stud Rubio B) has been competing in Argentina on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays & then at his home base at Rio de Janeiro's Gavea Racecourse on Saturdays, Sundays & Mondays. Ricardo "is 227 victories short of equaling retired US Racing Hall-Of-Farmer Laffit Pincay's all-time win mark of 9,530; Pincay retired at age 56 in 2003.
