1st Oratorio Mares Scanned In-Foal

Meanwhile dual Gr1-winning Coolmore stallion Oratorio (by Danehill) "is off to an excellent start at stud, with 19 mares scanned in foal ," reported racingpost.co.uk. Among them is Lady Bamford's mare Highindi (a daughter of Montjeu from the family of Gr1 winners Compton Admiral & Summoner); Japan's Shadai Farm bought Highindi's half-sister Arvada (a US Gr2 winner) for US$800,000 at Keeneland last November. Another Lady Bamford mare scanned in foal is Pilgrim Spirit (a daughter of Saint Ballado) bought for 380,000 guineas (A$988,000) as a yearling. Other mares successfully tested in foal to Oratorio include Gr3 winners Harbour Island, Eyeq & an unraced half-sister to Gr1 winner Snow Polina. Oratorio stands at Coolmore for €30,000 (A$48,000).
