Florida 2YOs Day-2:US$650,000 Songandaprayer Colt

Friday, 24th March 2006

Agent Buzz Chace (buying on behalf of the Double H Stable of Norma Hess & Marianne Hesse) again out-bid Jimmy Gladwell (acting on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed's Darley Stable) & paid US$650,000 for a Florida-bred colt by Songandaprayer (out of Valid Appeal mare Valid Expression). Chace told thoroughbredtimes.com: "I thought he'd go a little higher with the people that were looking at him. If he wins early & wins a stakes then he could be a stallion down here in Florida. I bought his father & his grandfather (Unbridled's Song) & now him." Chace confirmed Todd Pletcher would train the colt (who is named Mess'n Around & was consigned by Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds as agent).
