Florida 2YOs Day-2: US$400,000 Orientate Filly
Agent John Sadler (acting for Michael Talla & marking "the 1st time the founder of Los Angeles-based Sports Club Company has purchased a juvenile') paid US$400,000 for a filly by Arrowfield Stud shuttler Orientate (out of Salt Lake mare Smellin Salty) reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The filly (consigned by Niall Brennan Stables as agent) worked a furlong in 10.2sec during the pre-sale breeze-up session & is a half-sister to stakes-winner August Storm. Sadler (who noted Talla purchased several yearlings last year) commented: "I thought she previewed really well. She's a big, scopey filly with a lot of speed."
