Keep The Faith To Stud At Collingrove
International 5YO sprinter Keep The Faith (Sunday Silence-Duelling Girl, by Dayjur) will stand at Victoria's Nagambie-based Collingrove Stud in 2006 (at a fee yet to be announced). Bred at Arrowfield Stud & purchased by Darley for $1.2 million as a yearling at the 2002 Inglis Easter Sale, Keep The Faith (whose recent US campaign saw him smash the North American turf record for 1200m) has been purchased by Collingrove Stud in partnership. Keep The Faith won on debut as a 2YO over 1000m at Cheltenham, but then went shin sore; returning as a 3YO, he won 3 more races (including the Listed Schweppervescence Cup). Transferred to the US, he made a sizzling debut (after 16 months away from the track being treated for a breathing problem) by smashing the all time North American record for 1200m on turf at Belmont Park, winning by 2.5-lengths & clocking 1min 6.82sec; after 1 unplaced start on dirt (in the Gr1 Forego Handicap), he returned to the turf & finished 3rd (behind next start Gr1 Breeders' Cup winner Artie Schiller) in the Gr2 Kelso Handicap (8 furlongs). His sire Sunday Silence has dominated the Japanese General Sires & 2YO Sires Lists for 11 consecutive years; & his dam Duelling Girl is a half-sister to multiple Group winners Faithful Sun (Gr2 Prince Of Wales Stakes) & Always Fair (Gr3 Coventry Stakes) & Asaasy.
