Ascot Sale: $38,000 Gizmondo

Thursday, 23rd February 2006

In the UK overnight, Gillian Dolman (who works for Michael Bell) out-bid fellow trainer Martin Bosley & paid top price of £16,000 (A$38,000) for once-raced 3YO Lomitas colt Gizmondo during Ascot's 1st sale of 2006, reported racingpost.co.uk. Bell had previously trained the colt & Dolman confirmed: "He was being offered to dissolve his partnership & should hopefully improve quite a bit on last year." Gizmondo (well beaten in his only start at Yarmouth in August) is a half-brother to 8 winners (including Ventiquattrofogli, who finished 3rd in the Gr1 St James's Palace Stakes as a 3YO).
