Semple Equals 42-Year Scottish Record

In Scotland, Lanarkshire-based Ian Semple equalled a 42-year record for the number of flat winners saddled by a trainer in Scotland when Sarraaf won at Wolverhampton to take his total to 35 (matching Nigel Angus in 1975) reported racingpost.co.uk. However Semple (a former assistant to John Gosden, who also worked for John Dunlop & Dick Hern) "is still some way shy of George Boyd's Scottish record of 59 winners set in 1959".
