7-Year Ban To US Jockey Perez

In Michigan, stewards "issued their final ruling in the case against suspended jockey Roberto Perez" &"handed down a 7-year suspension "after ruling evidence in the case, including bank statements, tote records & sworn testimony, proved Perez engaged in a forbidden wagering transaction," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Perez allegedly placed wagers on his own behalf at Great Lakes Downs on October 4, "including a superfecta wager in which Perez excluded his own mount". The licensee who was caught "attempting to cash the winning superfecta ticket" for Perez was suspended for 60 days.
