Al Farouk Wins NZ Canterbury Stakes

Darley shuttler Cape Cross (Green Desert-Park Appeal, by Ahonoora) added an NZ black-type success when his colt Al Farouk (Cape Cross-Temptation) grabbed a short-head victory in yesterday's NZ$30,000 Listed Canterbury Stakes (1600m) for 3YOs at Riccarton Park. Al Farouk (ridden by Jamie Bullard for trainers Peter & Dawn Williams) defeated the filly Mystify (Montjeu-Seamist, by Beaufort Sea) & gelding Poulter (Quest For Fame-Peppie). Al Faourk was a NZ$92,500 2YO at the 2004 NZB Horses-In-Training Sale.
