1st Foal To NZ Gr1 Star Lashed

Monday, 24th October 2005

Triple Gr1-winning Kiwi mare Lashed (Encosta de Lago-Traffic Watch) has produced her 1st foal at Cambridge Stud. Principal Sir Patrick Hogan told NZ Thoroughbred Marketing the Zabeel filly "is dark brown & a lovely big foal". Lashed (who was trained in Hamilton by Graeme Rogerson & Stephen Autridge) retired last March after finishing 3rd in her final race appearance in the weight-for-age Gr1 Darley Stakes (2000m). Overall Lashed recorded 7 wins & 12 placings in 38 starts for over NZ$1 million prize-money; her Gr1 triumphs came in the weight-for-age Zabeel Classic (2000m) at Ellerslie, weight-for-age Whakanui Stud International Stakes (2000m) at Te Rapa & Thorndon Mile (1600m) at Trentham. Lashed will be mated again this year with Zabeel.
