US Guild Fails Congress Subpoena

Meanwhile the US Jockeys' Guild "did not submit by the Monday deadline all the documents requested by the US Congress subcommittee which is seeking information related Guild finances & management," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Congress made its 3rd request for Guild information on September 20 when the subcommittee subpoenaed Guild President L. Wayne Gertmenian to provide information. The subcommittee "wants to examine the lapse of a catastrophic insurance policy that covered jockeys through 2002 for racetrack accidents".
