Magic Millions Day-2: $300,000 Zeditave Colt

Thursday, 6th October 2005

In Australia, Queensland trainer John Wallace paid a record-equalling $300,000 for a 2YO colt by colonial sire Zeditave during yesterday's 2nd session at the 2-day Magic Millions Gold Coast Horses-In-Training Sale. The colt (consigned by Washpool Lodge & Oakwood Farm) ran the fastest time during the pre-sale breeze-up. Wallace commented: "He's a magnificent individual. I was preparing him for the vendors & he really impressed me. I just had to buy him. The 2nd acceptance was paid on Tuesday for the Gr1 Golden Slipper & it would be great to aim at that race. When you weigh things up, he is a good buy at the price. You can pay that amount for nice yearlings all the time without any idea of how they run before-hand." The colt is from Sydney-winning Luskin Star mare Miss Paige, a half-sister to top producing mares Loyal Lyric (dam of Anthems & Vocalist, grandam of Yell) & Party Miss (dam of Written Tycoon).
